One Small Desk

A small idea on a Saturday morning can easily turn into an eight hour job. That is what today became. We have been wanting to purchase a small desk for the living room, a place for Mike to work and for me to work, as well. That easily becomes a two or three hour project of driving and looking and measuring and deciding and loading and unloading and a few choice words here and there. That also easily becomes a perfect opportunity to dust and sweep and scrub and move furniture around. On top of that we decided to update the window treatments. More measuring and driving and shopping and thinking and disagreeing then agreeing and coming home to install. By 8:45 PM we were mostly done and we were mostly done. Happy with the work, but tired and a bit frustrated that this project was the only thing accomplished today. The grass was not mowed, the grocery store was not shopped, yesterday’s dishes were still piled into sink and fast food was partaken. Rule to remember: Everything takes longer than you think.
